automotive plant in Winona, Minnesota, will have to face the axe, too, with 60 of
them already handed pink slips last week. And last month, GM, the largest automotive
company in the US, announced a major cut of about 20% of its workforce in order to
increase liquidity by around $15 billion. A truck plant in Oshawa, Ontario, was also
closed down by the company in late June.

Barnes says, \'\'The automotive world is facing a lean period, and now is the crucial
